Eucharistic Revival

It is an invitation for the entire Church community and for the individual Catholic to encounter Jesus in the Eucharist.  The Revival is a mission intended to deepen our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and in doing so to help all involved to

  • be strong believers in Jesus
  • to be healed of what spiritually hurts us
  • to be united with others

What is the Eucharist?

In the celebration of the Mass, through the words of the priest and the power of the Holy Spirit, bread and wine become the body and blood of Jesus.  As Catholics we believe that under the appearances of bread and wine Christ is real and truly present - body, blood, soul and divinity.  BELIEF IN THE REAL PRESENCE OF JESUS IN THE EUCHARIST IS A CORE BELIEF OF CATHOLICS.

This deep belief is rooted in the story of the Last Supper when Jesus shared a final meal with His apostles before His crucifixion the next day.

"While they were eating, Jesus took a piece of bread, gave a prayer of thanks,
broke it, and gave it to his disciples.
'Take and eat it,' he said; 'this is my body.'
Then he took a cup, gave thanks to God, and gave it to them.
'Drink it, all of you,' he said; 'this is my blood, which seals God's covenant,
my blood poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
I tell you, I will never again drink this wine until the day I drink
the new wine with you in my Father's Kingdom.'"
- Matthew 26:26-29
